MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | This site is located on Kawi Creek where it enters Tribal land. Bay, fir, poison oak, ferns, moss, grass, yellow dock, and blackberry are the primary riparian vegetation. Most of the fir trees were standing dead and beginning to fall over. The stream flow cascades down from a ledge created by the borderline fence holding back debris with erosion below that has since been covered by moss. The stream bed consists of small rocks, gravel, and sand. The surrounding land use patterns consist of horse and cattle grazing on the neighboring parcel on the other side of the fence. There are no intentional hydrological modifications, although the fence separating the property has impacted the terrain of the creek bed. |
