THE MILL POND DAM, LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 600 FEET UPSTREAM OF THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE, WAS REMOVED BY THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN 1999. THE STREAM IS FREE-FLOWING FROM THE OLD DAM SITE TO THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE AND ACCESS FOR SAMPLING IS PROVIDED THROUGH THE CITY PARK ON THE NORTHEAST SIDE OF THE BRIDGE AT APPLETON, MINNESOTA; MINNESOTA RIVER BASIN. T120N/R43W/S14. SWIFT COUNTY. SAMPLED MONTHLY BY THE MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY FOR ROUTINE WATER QUALITY MONITORING. PERIOD SAMPLED: 1971-1976, 100178-PRESENT. MAJOR BASIN NAME: UPPER MISS.
