THE BLOWMEDOWN BROOK SITE; BELOW THE CONFLUENCE WITH BLOWMEUP BROOK; IS LOCATED INSIDE THE SAINTGAUDENS NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE (SAGA). THE SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED AS PART OF AN ONGOING STUDY BY NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PERSONNEL. DATA ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE REPORT "WATER RESOURCES MONITORING ANNUAL INTERPRETIVE REPORT" PREPARED BY STEPHEN A. WALASEWICZ; RESOURCES MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST AT SAGA. THE GOAL OF THE STUDY IS "TO DETECT CHANGES IN THE RELATIVE HEALTH OF THE SURFACE STREAM ECOSYSTEMS" AND "TO IDENTIFY EXTERNAL FACTORS WHICH MAY BE DEGRADING THE SPECIES DISTRIBUTION."
